SHI announced on the 13th that it has completed the ''Gyuldo Ecological Environment Restoration Project'' to maintain the area around Gyuldo, an uninhabited island near the Geoje shipyard. The vegetation environment of Gyuldo Island has been deteriorating due to bird droppings and kudzu vines.

In response, SHI has been planting sea pine, camellia, and wild flowers since the beginning of this year to restore the green area ratio and maintain habitats for birds such as egrets, and have been cleaning the surrounding pollutants.

In addition, SHI has been continuously carrying out ecological protection and restoration activities since 2012, such as creating habitats for an aquatic plant, in Sagok and Sadeung-ri and installing artificial fish reefs in the waters of Sadudo Island.

An official from SHI said, "We will do our best so that all processes and activities performed within the shipyard do not harm the environment.“ and “We will carry out the 7 environmental management tasks without a hitch toward 2050 Net Zero.”
