On November 8th, Samsung Heavy Industries announced that it had been awarded the prestigious "Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Award" in the green management category at the 2024 Korea Green Management Excellence Awards. The Green Management Excellence Awards is a highly respected accolade that recognizes outstanding achievements in environmentally conscious business practices. It is jointly organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Environment with the aim of enhancing companies'' eco-friendly management capabilities and promoting widespread adoption of green management principles across industries. Each year, exemplary corporations and individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing green management are honored with awards.

Despite this being Samsung Heavy Industries'' inaugural submission for the Green Management Award, the company was bestowed with the esteemed Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Award, signifying official recognition of their ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and pursuit of carbon net zero.

In response to receiving the award, Executive Director Ahn Dong-min, in charge of ESG management, expressed gratitude and shared his thoughts: "Receiving the Green Management Excellence Award, which carries great prestige in Korea, is truly momentous.
