Global & domestic ESG evaluation agencies are raising their ratings and scores for Samsung Heavy Industries.
It is believed that the company has been evaluated for establishing ESG governance and achieving
improvement in all fields of evaluation including environmental, social and governance.
Two of the leading agencies in the domestic ESG evaluation raised Samsung Heavy Industries' ESG rating
this year. Korea institute of Corporate Governance Sustainability(KCGS) raised ESG rating of Samsung Heavy
Industries from B+ to A and Sustinvest also raised ESG rating from BB in the first half of the year to A in the
second half of the year.
Global foreign ESG institutions are also improving their ESG ratings for Samsung Heavy Industries this year.
MSCI raised its rating from CCC to B in June, and ISS(Institutional Shareholder Services) raised its rating
from D+ to C- in August. Sustanalytics which evaluates a company's ESG risk, improved its rating
from high risk to medium risk in Nov. DJSI raised its scores from 55 last year to 59 this year
while maintaining 'Korea' grade.
