On the 22nd, Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pusan National University (PNU) to conduct joint researches for shipbuilding and offshore engineering and robotics as well as to nurture skilled talents.
The agreement covers cooperation in research and development of shipbuilding automation and robotics technologies; construction technologies for vessels operating on Arctic routes, including icebreakers; development of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) technologies and related workforce training; cultivation and exchange of graduate-level talents; and joint efforts in job training and consulting to promote regional and industrial development.
Building on this agreement, the two companies plan to promote the advancement of shipbuilding technologies, the development of foundational robotics technologies, and the cultivation of key talents for emerging businesses. Through these efforts, they aim to foster an industry-driven workforce, establish a foundation for regional revitalization through industry-academia cooperation, and continue joint efforts to secure global technological leadership.
