- Nor-Shipping 2025, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, is expected to attract approximately 1,000 participants, including representatives from global liners, classification societies, and energy companies.
Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) announced on the 30th that it will participate in `Nor-shipping 2025`, which will be held in Oslo, Norway, from 2-6 June (local time) and introduce its cutting-edge technology and competitiveness in the shipbuilding and offshore industry.
Nor-shipping is an international event held every two years that showcases state-of-the-art technologies in shipbuilding, offshore, and energy sectors. It serves as a platform for key players in the shipbuilding and offshore industry to exchange future expectations and insights.
Nor-shipping, which has been held since 1965, is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and plans to attract approximately 1,000 participants such as representatives from related organizations and companies worldwide.
Sung-an Choi, Chief Executive Officer (Vice Chairman) of SHI, Seong-il Oh, Head of the Marketing Division, and Hae-ki Jang, Chief Technology Officer (Vice President) will participate in the event to network with representatives from major liners, classifications societies, and energy companies.
SHI plans to obtain an approval for its LNG carrier equipped with a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) and to sign a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding the three cargo tank LNG carrier.

SOFC is an eco-friendly energy technology that has high electrical conversion efficiency and can be used with various fuels as a highly efficient fuel cell that directly converts chemical energy into electricity.
